Wait…Why Are Michigan Wendy’s Locations Suddenly Closing?
There's been a lot of chatter on social media this week about Wendy’s locations suddenly disappearing, so I started doing a little digging. Sure enough, at least six Michigan locations now appear to be permanently closed.
This really isn’t all that surprising, considering the company announced late last year that it planned to close around 350 underperforming restaurants nationwide.
Wendy’s has officially confirmed closures in other states, but so far, nothing has been officially announced for Michigan. However, we’re already starting to see signs of it here, too.
What Michigan Wendy’s Locations Are Closed?
Right now, the four Michigan locations we found showing as permanently closed are in Lapeer, Lake Orion, Birch Run, Port Huron, Holly, and Bridgeport.
All six locations are currently showing that big red “Permanently Closed” notice on Google, and honestly, this might just be the beginning.
Now, keep in mind, these are only five we were able to confirm. If you’ve noticed your local Wendy’s has suddenly closed, too, let us know.
More Michigan Wendy’s Closures Could Be Coming
Since Wendy’s never released a full closure list, it’s really hard to tell how many Michigan locations could eventually be affected.
That’s why this whole thing is so frustrating for customers in Michigan. People are basically finding out their local Wendy’s is closed when they pull up to the drive-thru and notice the lights are off.
Better grab that Baconator while you still can. At this rate, your local Wendy’s might not be there tomorrow.
